Addison Rae decided to travel light at the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards.
Because clothes really just get in the way, don't they?
The TikToker hit the red carpet Sept. 11 at UBS Arena in a vintage-cut satin bra and panties, the top decorated with a feathery accoutrement, as well as what amounted to a bouncy tulle bustle that gave her some cover on the back end but left the rest of her exposed for the de facto lingerie shoot. (See all the jaw-dropping looks at the 2024 VMAs right here.)
Rae complemented her all-white outfit—which did pop against what was technically a black carpet and coordinate with the evening's monochromatic color scheme—with peep-toe pumps and left her hair long, her side part fastened with a simple barrette.
All very The Seven Year Itch meets Queen Odette meets bride who left most of her dress behind.
Not that the jaw-dropping ensemble was a total surprise coming from the He's All That actress, Rae having flashed her undies at the 2023 Academy Museum Gala as well (though under a sheer dress, not just hanging out) and her 2022 Met Gala look left nothing to the imagination.
In any case, Rae's comfort in her own skin and willingness to play with risqué fashion are once again on display.
Though, TBH, we're not entirely sure what's happening with this brassiere's silhouette, which is causing basically the opposite result of a Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra. More of a pillowy divide-and-conquer effect in this case.
"In terms of style, I've been so into pretty neutral colors and just keeping it timeless," she told Interview magazine in 2021 of her general aesthetic, adding that what she picks out "just depends on how I feel and what kind of vibe I'm going for."
And apparently sometimes that vibe is boudoir! Keep reading to see all the eye-popping looks on the 2024 MTV VMAs carpet:
